Down from the High Lonesome (p9) Using new clay

Well it's been a while since I've worked on the clay. Had personal stuff to do.. Today I applied the new clay to the old clay. This White clay is a great improvement for me. Being white, it's easier to see the shadows and shape of the piece as I work on it. Since moving shadows around is the business of a sculptor, being able to see the subtle shadows is a major thing. (Just a note, you can click on photo's to enlarge them)

As you can see in the following photograph, I've started to add muscle and structure to the second horse.

I was curious as to how bronze was colored and found one of your videos on youtube today. Then I found your new blog and then this older blog and wanted to start where you began blogging. I have sculpted a couple miniatures but never anything very large. I have already learned a lot today. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom.
